Taiwan Fastener Show 2012

Last month Gary made the journey to Taiwan or ‘The kingdom of Screws’ if I can borrow the phrase from the website of the 2012 Taiwan International Fastener Show general information page.
How true this is because of many lost skills and virtual non existent Screw manufacturing industry here in Australia, we have no alternative but to source some of our pin sizes from overseas.
This pilgrimage is made by many of the top Fastener Companies in Australia and throughout the world. The reasons for attending this event are varied, some are looking for the latest advances in technology and design, and other are looking for new supply chains or perhaps building their rapport with existing suppliers.

Whatever the reasons if you want to stay in business today you need to know what’s going on and attending these events are part of the overall process.

One thing for certain is we have to keep abreast of what is new and innovative…

Attendees
Gary commented on the diverse crowd walking around which represented many different parts of the world and according to the show profile slides the following countries would be attending with significant numbers from the following parts of the world.

  • Japan
  • United States
  • Mainland China
  • Germany
  • India
  • Thailand
  • Malaysia
  • Italy
  • Poland
  • Brazil

According to their media release over 2,000 buyers from 70 countries attended 2012 Taiwan international Fastener Show.

The event was very professional and most exhibitors had English speaking staff, which made for a seamless experience.  There were over 250 exhibitors using 400 booths not sure what that exactly means, but I am sure someone will correct me.
